Colour Pop Haul + Swatches

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well! I know it's been a while!
I've been hearing so many great things about the brand Colour Pop, so I picked up a few things!

This is the Super Shock shadow in the color Smash. This has a really interesting formula, it's a cream to powder but doesn't feel wet creamy, just very smooth! But it doesn't crease as long as I use a primer.

Top to bottom: Finders Keepers lip gloss,
Aquarius cream Lippie Stick,
Tootsi Matte Lippie Stick,
Lumiere Matte Lippie Stick,
Party Foul Matte X Lippie Stick.

Finders Keepers on, it's pretty much a gloss version of Lumiere. Gorgeous color!

Aquarius, such a perfect nude!

Tootsi, one of those perfect grey taupe nudes!

Lumiere, my favorite! Perfect pop of color for everyday!

And lastly Party Foul, LOVE this color!!

Let me know if you want a review of these!!

NYX Lippies- Lip Lingerie, Butter Gloss, Soft Matte Lip Creams and Liners

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well! As you probably know NYX lip products are super popular right now so I wanted to show you all of mine! Some are new and some I've had for a little while. Now I just wanna say yes I do try to live a natural lifestyle overall, but it's so hard to find natural lip products that work as well, and find colors I like. So NYX is my cheat brand, and I'm more okay with using non natural makeup than skincare since it's not gonna be on my face for as long.

Now that that's out of the way here are my NYX lip products!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams- Istanbul, Addis Ababa, Stockholm.
I love these! I'm really into the whole matte lip thing right now and these sit very comfortably! Just be sure to let them dry first before rubbing your lips together at all or they'll get a little funky. Also you should exfoliate and moisturizer lips before applying anything matte! You can remove the lip balm if you want it to appear matte and last as long as it can.
Butter Goss- Eclair, Angel Food Cake.
Lipstick- 565.
Eclair isn't really my color since it's a cool tone but it works for layering well! Angel Food Cake is a really pretty mauve color! I love the smooth texture of these, and even the lipstick is comfortable in my lips!
NYX Lip Lingerie- Lace Detial.
This is one of the new liquid matte lipsticks, These are really hard to find right now, I had to go to 3 different places just to find them! This line is all nude colors and plenty of them, so every skin tone should find one for them!  There are a few more colors I wanna pick up when I can find them. I think these are a great dupe for the Kylie Jenner lip kits and a fraction of the price! Now the texture is different than the matte lip cream because this is thicker and although it's also matte it does stay kind if tacky for a little while, it feels the slightest bit heavy on the lips but I don't really mind that! They stay on for a while too! And are kiss proof, which is perfect since my boyfriend hates getting lipgloss on his lips! ;)
Here I'm wearing Lace Detial with the Mauve lip liner under it, which makes it a bit more grayish but still really pretty!

And speaking of Lip Liners here is Peekaboo and Mauve! (Left to right) these too of course are matte! Great alone it under something else!

And that's all I've got for now but I can't wait to try more!! Any recommendations?

DIY Deodorant Fail.

Hello lovelies! Hope you're all doing well!
So the other week I tried a couple of different deodorant recipes, and they started out well but then kinda stopped working, I'll explain more shortly.

Now I love how this turned out, I used lemongrass and rosemary and it smelled lovely! Now this may be a little tmi but we all sweat so let's not make it taboo, I typically don't even use deodorant because even though I sweat I don't actually smell much. So for the first couple of days it worked well and I still smelled very fresh at the end of the day.. But then I started working out, and when I would use this is made me smell bad. I guess it didn't work with my sweat well. So I feel like this is fine when just chilling and not doing much, but if you wanna work out (and you should stay active when you can), better not use this.

Now this one still doesn't work great for me but it does work for my sister! I've tried a few natural deodorant brands and once again I smell worse at the end of the day. That might be one of those things I can't find a natural version of , I'm currently using what my boyfriend uses- Degree Men, it's clear so there's no aluminum in it and there's actually not many ingredients, so I don't feel so bad using it. Why men's? #1 it was half the price of the women's line, you get more for the money and they didn't have any clear for women. Plus it doesn't sucks melting like my boyfriend! ;)

If I try out anymore I'll totally post about how it goes! Look out for a toothpaste post coming soon! :)

Winter DIY's ✌️

So apparently this never posted, but here are some diys I did the other week! :)

Okay so I'm sure most of you know here in Virginia we're in the middle of a big snow storm, so I've been stuck inside all day and to make the best of it I made some goodies!!

I made some bath bombs, massage/exfoliating bars and a strawberry scrub! Lemme tell you that scrub smells like summer, which makes this snow storm even worse!
Anyway here are the recipes I went off of:

Bath Bombs- http://idlewife.blogspot.ca/2013/02/diy-bath-bombs.html?m=1   For mine I used oat milk as the liquid and added some oats to the bottom of the soap molds before putting the mixture in.

Massage Bars- http://www.easy-home-made.com/lush-body-butter-DIY.html. For mine I used steel cut oats and old fashioned oats as the exfoliators and didn't use as many so it wasn't all scrub.

Strawberry Scrub-
1 cup of sugar
Almond oil- you can really do as much as you want but I used a couple of tablespoons to make it slightly runny.
1-2 strawberries.

I used a fork to mash up the strawberries and took out the big pieces.
Then mixed everything together and stored it in the fridge since there is fresh fruit in it.

And there you have it! What DIY's would to like to see? And what do you do on snow days?

DIY LUSH Dream Cream! 😴❤️

Hey guys I've got an amazing face cream/lotion  for you today!!

It's a dupe for the LUSH Dream Cream, now I haven't tried the lush cream so I don't know how it stacks up, but I love this stuff. I do use it as a face cream but also on my hands or anywhere that needs some love.  The dream cream is $28 for one pot, it's so much cheaper to make myself! It's based on a DIY I got from Pinterest but mine didn't turn out so great so I had to improvise a bit. The original recipe didn't call for any wax, which I was a little scared about since it didn't have anything to bind the water and oil together. And sure enough as it cooled it separated no matter how much I tried to beat it together. I only had beeswax and that did in a pinch for this.*
It also called for aloe which I didn't have but I think it would make addition, it's great for your skin! But it can be made without it.

I made a very small amount so it doesn't go bad before I use it all, this is also great for your body and hands.
Feel free to double this if you're gonna use it up.

1 tps butter (cocoa, shea or avocado, I used cocoa)
1 tps oil blend (the original recipe called for olive but it's a little heavy so I used a mix of fractionated coconut oil, pumpkin seed and avocado oils).
2 tps oat milk*
1 tps distilled water
1tps beeswax *
A few drops of essential oil of your choice, I used carrot seed, geranium, rosemary and lavender.

(If you use lavender or citrus oil be sure to either use this at night or an SPF since they make your skin more sensitive to the sun.)

*For the oat milk I used 1 cup of oats with 3 cups of water, blended it in the blender for a few minutes and used a strainer to get all the oats out. I would do this before everything else so it's ready when you need it. It'll need to be heating before its mixed in with everything else.

*i didn't have any emulsifying wax so I used beeswax to try to save my cream and it seemed to work okay, but if the cream gets to cold it separates , so I had to re blend it and it seems okay for now.   I'm gonna try to find a way to make this without any water and still have it be thin enough. I'll totally post that when I make it! But for now this is what I did.

Make sure you have a hand mixer ready for when you need it. And your oat milk is heated some. Not hotter than your oil and butter mix though, but we'll get there.

DIRECTIONS:
1. In a heat safe bowl place over a small pot of water and heat between low and medium heat.
2. Place the oil, butter and beeswax in the bowl, stirring occasionally until everything is melted.
3. Turn off the heat and remove the bowl from the pot and use the hand mixer to blend everything together. (If things harden faster then you'd like you can always melt it back down. )
4. Slowly add the distilled water to the mix, very slowly to make sure it blends smoothly.
5. Make sure the oat milk is warm, so it doesn't shock your oil mix and do the same thing with the oat milk as you did the water, slowly add it in and beat the crap out of it, just to be safe I beat it for at least 5 minutes, it might look a little thin at first but as it cools it'll thicken, if you're worried about it separating like I was feel free to whip it up more as it cools. But since the beeswax is in there it should be fine. :)

It might sound a little scary but it's really not that bad, just don't skip the beeswax and you'll be fine!

Let me know if you try this and what you think!! But if you don't want to make it yourself you can totally buy it from me for  $5! If you're interested in that email me at herewithme543@live.com :)

2016/ Where I've been. ❤️

Hey! Do you remember me?
I hope someone is still here. I know I was really in and out last year (mostly out), and then just stopped writing altogether. I'm sure you all know life gets crazy and sometimes it's nice just to enjoy life, which I totally agree with don't get me wrong. But I've missed writing for sure and I like sharing my life with all of y'all!
How is 2016 so far? And what are your goals for the year if you have any?
I'm really getting back into my natural living this year, making my own skincare and eating more clean. It's making me remember why I started in the first place! I'm also trying to live more minimally, so I'm trying to clean out a lot of clothes I don't wear or books I don't read, stuff like that.
I have a ton of clothes on Poshmark and my name is taylornhastings if you wanna check it out! Don't worry this post isn't to get you to buy stuff from me! Haha
I'm sure like you guys I LOVE Pinterest! And I love that they have so many natural DIYs, so I have been doing so many I find on there and if you'd like I can post some on here for all of you! Making stuff at home is so much cheaper and healthier for you! Plus I'm trying to save money for a car so every little bit helps!
Speaking of saving money I have a new job, and I'm loving it! I'm working at a bakery and it's so much more fun than I thought! I love what I'm doing and I love the people I'm working with. It's very relaxing and it's nice to do a job I really enjoy and can look forward to!
Lastly I want to address my YouTube Chanel. I've been MIA from there as well and I'm actually not sure if I'll pick back up with that or not, it became something I didn't really want to do and felt more of an obligation than something I enjoyed. But I'll try my best to write a post at least twice a month but hopefully more!

If you have any ideas please leave me a comment! And hit me up on Pinterest! It's TaysGreenLife.
